"Looking at the stars at night, thinking at the sun, our own star. It is so close we cannot look directly at it. It is so bright we cannot see Mercury when it passes across from east to west, from future to past. When Mercury is in eclipse we can only look inwards, reflecting about the dialogues between interior and exterior. Only in meditative state is where matter turns into light, and copper becomes gold. This is a journey to contemplate our own shadows.

Every cycle is full of uncertainty.

Are we going to meet this time?

Are you going to hide behind that blinding brightness I will never see?

Sometimes when the moment comes I look at the horizon and I see only vast space.

Are you able to see my blinded eyes?

This layers are trying to fit.

Mercurio frente al Sol (Mercury in front of the Sun) was an experimental music trio playing in the eve of the COVID19 pandemic. It gathered the languid melodies of Valeria Oggioni, the sound poetry practice of Sara Fernández and the concrete siege of Pedro Ramírez.

‘Por la inflamada esfera’ material emerged from long improvisation sessions. This edition comprised by a live recording and further retouched sound file captured during the concert “Flores, matas y algo más” that took place in the now extinct but legendary restaurant ‘La Normanda’ in downtown Bogotá the 7th of February, 2020.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, a physical release of this project was made impossible. For this reason you'll find additional visual material as a bonus if you choose to 'buy'/get the record.
